You've taken the courses and, if required, submitted your portfolio. It's time to validate your knowledge of the CI 101-104 concepts by taking The Comprehensive Exam. This is the very last step to earning the CCIM Designation.
If you have completed all educational, portfolio, and elective credit requirements you are eligible register and take the exam. You may choose to take an online or in person Course Concept Review session as well.

Review Core Concepts Review
The Core Concepts Review (CCR) is available in person or online. Students have the option to attend the Core Concepts Review (CCR) prior to the exam. This immersive review is especially helpful for individuals who completed the courses over a period of several years. The in-person CCR lasts 2 days, 8 am - 5 pm in the time zone of the location.

Common Questions about the Comprehensive Exam
Can I take the Comprehensive Exam online?
The Comprehensive Exam must be taken in-person at the scheduled location.
Do I have to take the Core Concepts Review?
No, but the majority of test-takers do attend. It's a great review of the material you will find in the exam, and it fulfills a full elective credit.
Is the exam open book?
Yes. Students may use digital or printed CCIM textbooks and materials during the exam. Internet use is prohibited.
Can I take the Comprehensive Exam prior to submitting my portfolio?
No. An approved Portfolio of Qualifying Experience is required to sit for the Comprehensive Exam, unless you are a Fast Track member.
How long are the CCR and Comprehensive Exam?
The in-person CCR lasts 2 days, 8 am - 2 pm in the time zone of the location.
The Comprehensive Exam lasts one day, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check-in typically begins at 7 a.m., and exam instructions are given at 7:45 a.m. You will be sent an agenda that includes detail about exam time and location.
How will I know if I passed?
Your exam grade will be posted in the Grades tab of your of your ccim.com account portal by 4 p.m. on the day of the exam. A grade of 70% or better is passing, and you can attend the Pinning Ceremony that evening.
What happens if I fail the exam?
Students who don't pass are given the opportunity to retake the exam at no cost the following day. These individuals will have the opportunity to meet with instructors to go over strategies to help prepare for a successful outcome. Details about this will be in your final reminder email.
A candidate may also retake the exam at a reduced cost at another nationally scheduled session. Candidates have up to four retake attempts. Exam retake is $75.00 and $380.00 to retake the CCR course.
