Designation Courses

These courses comprise the education component of the CCIM Designation requirements.
 

CI 101: Financial Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate

This course is a prerequisite for CI 103-CI 104 and will provide you with a foundation of practical financial analysis skills you need to succeed in the following courses and in the field.

CI 102: Market Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate

Analyze investment factors for each of four major property types: office, industrial, multifamily, and retail.

Negotiations Training

Eight hours of training on The CCIM Institute Interest-Based Negotiations Model is required before going on to CI 103 and CI 104. This requirement can be completed through the online Preparing to Negotiate course or the one-day classroom course Commercial Real Estate Negotiations.

CI 103: User Decision Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate

Utilize market and financial analysis skills for user space decisions, and apply cost-of-occupancy models for ownership and leasing.

CI 104: Investment Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate

Optimize investment returns and effectively forecast investment performance by quantifying real estate risk.

Online Ethics Course

This course provides relevant information about the CCIM Code and Standards of Practice of The CCIM Institute and fulfills the CCIM Designation Curriculum requirement and NAR Code of Ethics requirement.

The elective credit requirement can be fulfilled with courses offered by the Robert L. Ward Center for Commercial Real Estate Studies.

 

* Effective January 1, 2019, the CCIM Designation cannot be earned solely through self-paced courses. A candidate must take at least one of the following as an instructor-led course: CI 102: Market Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate; CI 103: User Decision Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate; or CI 104: Investment Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate. Choose from any of these instructor-led course formats: classroom, virtual, or online.

 

Course Formats

Classroom

Learn in a traditional classroom environment. Interact and network with other professionals in a collaborative, small-group setting.

Online Instructor-Led

Combine the personal attention of an instructor with the flexibility of online learning. Courses have two virtual (online) sessions per week, over five weeks with defined start and end dates. All materials are provided online.

Virtual

Virtual course format is online with longer online sessions more closely mirroring in-person classroom.

Online Self-Paced

Independently complete the course in one sitting or spread it out over several weeks. All materials are provided online.
