This course examines asset and portfolio manager roles and responsibilities in commercial real estate investing. During this course, students will explore skill enhancement and career advancement for these two roles. Topics addressed in the asset management portion of the course include different types of asset management, use of market analysis and financial analysis tools to determine property investment needs, making leasing decisions, and considerations for holding or selling a property.

Topics pertinent to portfolio management include how the real estate asset class impacts portfolio investment decisions, optimal investment strategies for commercial real estate cycles, and the impact of cash flows on a real estate portfolio.

COURSE INSTRUCTORS

Michael Hironimus, CCIM, is Principal/Founder of Duckridge Realty Advisors in West Linn, Oregon, which he founded in 2017. Specializing in private portfolio and asset management, he has been in commercial real estate for more than 18 years as an investor, broker, and portfolio adviser.

Mark Cypert, CCIM, is a Partner in multiple private equity commercial real estate joint venture investments throughout the United States. During his career, he has participated in the exchange of 18.1 million sf of office, industrial and retail acquisition, and development ventures with a total market capitalization of $2.5 billion.

Building a Commercial Real Estate Consulting or Investing Business is a new course that outlines the opportunities available to commercial real estate professionals to generate revenue outside the brokerage model. You'll learn how to transition from the broker contingent fee revenue model to a consulting and/or investing approach. Other topics include identifying commercial real estate opportunities as a consultant or investor and recognizing skills and traits of successful consultants and investors.

Patricia Lynn, CCIM, is Principal/Founder at Lynnk in San Francisco. During her 37 years in commercial real estate, Lynn has negotiated development, leasing, and office transactions with companies like Cushman & Wakefield, Pacific Gas & Electric, and CBRE.

David Monroe, CCIM, is a multifamily investor and strategic consultant specializing in market analysis, demand/supply analysis, market cycles, and feasibility analysis. He has been in the multifamily industry since 2011 as a broker, consultant, investor, and syndicator.
