The CCIM Institute Chapter Feature: The Louisiana CCIM Chapter
The Louisiana CCIM Chapter serves the entire state of Louisiana and has approximately 200 members consisting of designees, candidates, and some affiliates. Their chapter members are concentrated in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge MSAs, and they also have a strong delegation in the Acadiana region and the Central and North Louisiana areas.
President Matt Eaton, CCIM, and Vice President, Clinton Shepard, SIOR, CCIM, are leading the chapter in 2024, and they want to focus this year’s efforts on defining and providing clarity around “What is a CCIM”, while emphasizing why the public, business owners, entities should look to CCIMs for expertise and knowledge.
This chapter has been successful in partnering with the Louisiana Realtors (state association) and local CIDs in most of the markets they serve. They’ve also found success hosting annual fundraisers like a traditional golf tournament or clay shoot tournaments to raise money for chapter activities and scholarships.
The Louisiana CCIM Chapter are positioning themselves as a resource for commercial continuing education opportunities. Their chapter’s admin works closely with the licensing entity (LREC) and gets the courses approved. This has allowed them to provide CCIM-caliber education and topics to more licensees and practitioners and build a pipeline of potential candidates.
